Dry Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, stir together the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla. Mix in eggs one at a time. Gradually stir in the flour mixture, and divide the batter into two bowls.
- Stir cocoa powder and chocolate chips into one batter. In the second bowl, stir in the pumpkin puree, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
- Spread half of the chocolate batter into the bottom of the greased baking pan. Top with half of the pumpkin batter.
- Add dollops of the remaining batters into the pan, then swirl gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
Notes
- You can add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for a sweet and salty contrast.
