Juicy shrimp baked in a garlic butter sauce and topped with golden, crunchy breadcrumbs — ready in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp:

  • 1 lb (450g) large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails on or off

Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

Breadcrumb Topping:

  • 1/2 cup (60g) panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional, for extra brightness)
  • Olive oil spray or drizzle, optional for browning

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a shallow baking dish or use a glass 8×8″ dish.
  2. Prepare Shrimp: Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the baking dish.
  3. Mix Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  4. Coat Shrimp: Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the shrimp.
  5. Prepare Breadcrumb Topping: In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan (if using), and lemon zest.
  6. Add Topping: Sprinkle breadcrumb mixture evenly over the shrimp.
  7. Optional: Drizzle or spray the top lightly with olive oil for extra crispness.
  8. Bake: Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until shrimp are pink, opaque, and the breadcrumb topping is golden and crispy.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges, over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Notes

  • Use raw shrimp, not pre-cooked, or it will overcook and become rubbery.
  • For extra golden topping, switch to broil for the last 1–2 minutes—watch closely!
  • Add a dash of crushed red pepper flakes if you like heat.
