Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs or chopped rosemary, dried
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Topping:

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Add olive oil, minced garlic, and rosemary (or Italian herbs).
  3. Knead the Dough: Gradually add water and knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes by hand or 3 minutes using a stand mixer with a dough hook.
  4. Rise the Dough: Let the dough rise for about 1 hour in a warm place, covered with a damp cloth, until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Prepare Focaccia: After the dough has risen, spread it out into a greased baking dish or on a baking sheet. Create dimples in the dough.
  7. Add Toppings: Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and flaky sea salt.
  8. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Serve: Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes
